Marilyn Balke-Lowry is a native Houstonian and retired educator who has renewed her passion for art. Her current work is with water media, primarily acrylics, and often utilizes recycled paints, jewelry and fabrics. With her textural, organic design, she creates her “Imaginart” in the form of experimental abstract pieces.
With degrees from Sam Houston State University and the University of Houston, she brings a unique set of experiences to the easel.
Marilyn is actively involved in Artists Alive and Well where she has shown and sold her work in such Houston venues as; One Allen Center, J.P. Morgan Chase Bank, Three Allen Center, Continental Building, Phoenix Tower and Sculptures by Design. Her memberships in the Conroe Art League, The Woodlands Art League and the Lone Star Art Guild have led to her winning local and state awards.
