“The impulse to create has always been there. Making art brings my imaginings to life, usually with vibrant color or contrast, and lines from nature. Of course our amazing coastal landscape inspires me every day.”
Working primarily on canvas and wood, with various media, she often incorporates bits of her poetry, short stories and other messages in unexpected ways. However, many works tell a story with color or abstract forms, rather than words, often incorporating her favorite aquas, umbers and tangerines.
“My heart races when I see certain color combinations or images and I can’t wait to get to the studio and try to recreate them. I’m always hoping the viewer feels some of that same excitement when they see my finished work.”
She has studied drawing and painting with Mark Greenwalt of College of the Mainland.
