Join us Sunday, August 28th from 1-5pm for a Sunday Solo Show “The Storyteller” with in house artist Holly Nowak.
“The Storyteller” will be an unveiling of Holly’s newest artwork, a new series based on a solo journey she took last March to Caprock Canyons to paint and study the bison herds that roam freely as well as the amazingly vast Texas landscape. This series reflects a very spiritual journey for her as well. She spent time in the canyons of Caprock Canyons camping, hiking, sketching, painting and writing with the Caprock Bison. Her only companion was her amazing dog, Scout. “We had quite the adventure together”! The artwork produced was started in the canyons and completed in her private studio. This collection reflects her deep Texas roots, Native American influence and my appreciation and love for the beautiful, rugged Texas landscape. As a special treat she has arranged for the very talented Linda Copeland to share some of her amazing tales with guests from 2pm to 3 pm. Linda’s ability to capture and entertain an audience with her Texas Tales and Native American Legends is fantastic!
Linda’s career has encompassed many things including the art of professional storytelling. Her storytelling has allowed her to headline The Texas Folklife Festival, The Southwest Storytelling Festival, International Reading Conferences and many other amazing venues. Her Choctaw heritage has caused her to focus on Native American legends in recent years as you will see in her presentation alongside my newest works. This will be an amazing afternoon!
Light refreshments and our signature cocktail will be available. Free to attend!
