Cherie Salinas is a self taught artist who captures the intensity of a beautiful woman, a tempestuous landscape, or a peaceful still life. She was born in California, but has lived in Texas for many years.
Salinas has been drawing ever since she could pick up a pencil. “I have always known I wanted to be an artist since I was little.” stated Cherie.
Salinas has exhibited in juried shows in Galveston, Houston, and Salado. She won first place at Affair d’art in 2016 and second place on two different occasions with State of the Art shows.
Cherie has a studio in the Silos at Sawyer Yards with Teresa Staley and Lenora Palacios. In 2016 the three women formed the Blonterage. They participate in open studios every second Saturday of the month.
