A Bit About Me
Experimenting with color, texture, and medium, Alexine O'Fiel Stevens finds as much adventure in the creative process as in the final product. Her line works shows a commitment to alteration, revision and revisiting the canvas creating a layered effect to each of her works. Her paintings prioritize stillness in a world of perpetual movement.

Background. Stevens graduated from Texas Christian university with a Bachelors in Fine Art. Her works are displayed in the homes of collectors as well as individuals looking for works of art that make a statement.

Contributions. She has a strong commitment to community evidenced by the many contributions she has made through various local and national charities. To mention a few, she has made artistic donations tp Art on the Avenue, Sawyer Yards in Houston. Houston's largest silent auction and annual fundraiser. The event raises funds for Avenue, a charity to help working families by promoting healthy, vibrant, and diverse neighborhoods. For the last 10 years, Stevens has exhibited art in Gallery 3 in Winter Streets Studios located at Sawyer Yards. She has participated in The Houston Press event, Artopia and contributed to an event for The Arboretum in Houston. She was the featured artist for the International Anaplastology (fabrication of facial and cranial prosthesis) Convention in Nashville, Tennessee. She made donations to Impact a Hero, an organization helping wounded veterans and several contributions to the Paws gala in Galveston for the Humane Society.

Accomplishments. Stevens had the honor of being a featured artist in the exhibition, Elemental Realms at Agora Art Gallery in the Chelsea Art District in Manhattan, N.Y.. She was chosen twice to be a featured artist in Houston at Lawndale Art Center's most sought after juried exhibition, The Big Show. Stevens has participated in many notable exhibitions such as Salon des refuses at the Blue Orange Gallery in Houston as well as several group exhibitions in the Houston Art League. Along with her gallery accomplishments, it has been her honor to have been asked to do commissioned work in many homes and businesses throughout the State of Texas. Now she is honored to have work exhibited in Affaire d' Art Galveston, Texas.
